A retiree shall be defined in accordance with the Teacher Retirement System (TRS), an employee that meets the minimum eligibility requirements listed on the TRS website to retire from Lamar University under either ORP or TRS. Service is defined as any combination of creditable service as a member of TRS or the ORP in the state of Texas, as those persons eligible for full retirement benefits or reduced annuity benefits as determined under Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board provisions.
