Graduate Student request

Please note that graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are unlikely to receive full PI status without 1) the involvement of their faculty advisor, 2) grant-writing being a part of their training plan, and 3) their planned tenure at UO is longer than the proposed grant period.

Discussion with Faculty Advisor*

Is your faculty advisor aware that you are seeking to serve as PI/Co-PI on this grant?

Grants-Training Plan*

Is applying for grants integrated into your training plan?

How many more years of training to you anticipate you have at UO?

If your unit is not listed, please type in the name of your unit.

NOTE: The Unit Head and the PI included in this form cannot be the same person. The person serving as the Supervisor/Unit Head must oversee the PI in a supervisory capacity in order to approve the request. Graduate student requests should use the Department Head here rather than their faculty advisor.

Please take care to enter the email correctly, as the submission generates an automated process to send material to the supervisor. Incorrect email addresses will create significant delays in processing your request.

The Sponsored Projects Administrator is the person who is responsible for authorizing the submission of your proposal. The person assigned to your department/unit can be found on this website: https://research.uoregon.edu/about/administrative-units/campus-units-assignment.
