LPN Apprenticeship Program


Bismarck State College (BSC) Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program description:

This eleven-month LPN program includes both classroom study and supervised experience in caring for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).



Sanford Apprenticeship information:

  • Sanford Health has partnered with BSC in order to offer this apprenticeship program in the training and employment of LPN apprentices.
  • Sanford will pay for the cost of your educational program in return for a 3 year, full time work commitment as Nurse after program completion. Payment is made through NDUS Career Builder’s scholarship.
  • Paid LPN Apprenticeship program. Wage will progressively increase while progressing in the apprenticeship program.



Eligibility:

  • Must be accepted into the BSC and Dakota Nursing Program.
  • Must be on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry.
  • Must maintain a GPA that meets program requirements and show forward progression through the program of study.
  • Must be eligible for employment at Sanford Health and able to pass any pre-employment screening requirements.
  • Recipients are not eligible for any hiring bonus being offered at the time of employment.
  • Apprentice must complete 2000 hours in their Apprentice position prior to being promoted into an LPN position.



Funding:

Sanford Health provides this financial resource directly to the school on behalf of students selected through the application process. Any and all taxes associated with this financial resource become due at the time of forgiveness. You will see the taxes deducted in the tax year of your employment as an LPN. This is in accordance with the Internal Revenue Services’ guidelines.
