Specific Aims Consultation


Purpose:

Specific Aims Consultations are intended to support HIV investigators in developing and strengthening their applications for NIH grants by coordinating review of their draft specific aims page. Prospective applicants will receive written feedback from 1 – 3 reviewers from within the UW/Fred Hutch CFAR consortium (UW, Fred Hutch, Seattle Children’s, University of Hawai’i at Manoa).


Eligibility:

Investigators preparing to apply for HIV-related NIH grants (e.g. R01, R21, K awards). Priority will be given to early-stage investigators and those who are new to HIV or making a significant change to their research focus. Must be a CFAR member or have applied for CFAR membership.


Deadline to Request Consult:

  • July 7, 2025 – For feedback by August 1, 2025, for NIH September 7 deadline.
  • October 27, 2025 – For feedback by November 24, 2025, for NIH January 7 deadline.
  • March 10, 2026 – For feedback by April 1, 2026, for NIH May 7 deadline.
