Directory of Qualified Energy Auditors Form- Voluntary List

THIS DIRECTORY IS NOT RELATED TO THE REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS AND QUOTES (RFQQ) FOR THE ENERGY AUDITS FOR PUBLICLY OWNED BUILDINGS​ PROGRAM. Please email Brittany.wagner@commerce.wa.gov for more information on the RFQQ.


Entering information into this form and submitting it will add your name/company information to a publicly available list of qualified persons. A qualified energy auditor must meet the requirements listed below (per WAC 194-50-030). The purpose of this list is to connect building owners looking to comply with the Clean Building Performance Standard with individuals who meet the credentials required of the qualified energy auditor.


All information collected may be subject to public disclosure, pursuant to Ch. 42.56 RCW. Inclusion on this list is voluntary and does not represent an endorsement by or agreement with the Washington State Department of Commerce. Commerce is not responsible for vetting - it is the building owner's responsibility to confirm that the qualified energy auditor meets all project-specific qualifications.


The Clean Buildings Performance Standard defines a qualified energy auditor as a person acting as the auditor of record having training, expertise and three years professional experience in building energy auditing and any one of the following:


1. A licensed professional architect or engineer


2. A Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) certified by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)


3. A Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certified by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)


4. A certified energy manager (CEM) in current standing, certified by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)


5. An energy management professional (EMP) certified by the Energy Management Association (EMA)


Small businesses mean the primary location is in Washington state and the business has 50 or fewer employees or a gross annual revenue of less than $7 million.


Diverse businesses are owned by: Women; People in a racial minority; Socially and economically disadvantaged people.


Veteran-owned businesses must be at least 51% owned by a veteran to qualify for certification.
