2023 Board Nomination Form
We have several vacancies on the INSNA Board of Directors that need to be filled, including Board members and the President. Each position is a three-year term that will begin on January 1, 2023. We are seeking nominations for candidates interested in serving on the Board. The nomination period will close on August 31, 2022. Elections will be held by electronic voting in October 2022.
The INSNA Board is the governing body of the Association. It directs the affairs of the Association, its committees and publications; determines its policies; and supervises disbursement of funds. INSNA Board members are expected to attend all INSNA Board meetings, to serve on committees, and to advise on the affairs of the association.
INSNA considers the inclusion of diverse talent and learning from a diversity of perspectives an important basis for its success. We therefore encourage nominations of a diverse pool of candidates across multiple dimensions. At a minimum, we aim for the candidates to reflect the diversity of INSNA membership in terms of their academic discipline, country of residence, and demographics, including but not restricted to race and gender.
Qualifications for Board Members: Any INSNA Member whose membership is current, and is in good standing for at least three years, is eligible for nomination and election to any elective office. In addition, it is expected that a nominee has demonstrated commitment to the goals and activities of INSNA, for example: through past service on INSNA committees (e.g., awards committees, policies and procedures committee, communications committee), in editorial roles on INSNA-affiliated publications, or in conference organization. Qualifications for President include current or previous experience serving on the INSNA Board as a Board Delegate.
Qualifications for President: In addition to qualifying as a board member, as described above, the President is the spokesperson for INSNA. The President has general charge and supervision of the affairs of INSNA. The President presides at all meetings of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, annual business meeting, and any other official meeting. The President appoints the Vice-President and Treasurer of the association.
