Pre-K Immunization Law Training

Learn California immunization laws and regulations as well as basic procedures for reviewing childcare immunization requirements and medical exemptions.

TK/K-12 Immunization Law Training

Learn California immunization laws and regulations as well as basic procedures for reviewing TK/K-12 immunization requirements and medical exemptions.

Annual Reporting Training

Receive guidance on submitting the annual state-mandated fall immunization report, including information on report categories and unique situations.

This training will provide a comprehensive overview of vaccination principles, general best practices, immunization strategies, and specific information about vaccine-preventable diseases and the vaccines that prevent them. Training will also include best practices in infection prevention and processes of VPD case investigation done by the Immunization Unit VPD Program PHNs.


Disease specific vaccine preventable disease presentations including Polio, Varicella, MMR, DTaP/Tdap, HPV and more.

Overview of County of San Diego Immunization Unit Services

An overview of our mission to eliminate vaccine-preventable diseases by improving vaccine coverage, tools and processes of disease investigation and control, education, data collection, community collaboration, health and vaccine assessments, school law, and the California Immunization Registry.

Childhood Vaccine Schedule Review

A personalized clinical approach to help medical providers, school officials, health professionals, and the public understand childhood vaccine schedules. Including recent updates and Q and A session.

School Required Vaccines Training

School Immunization Program (SIP) nurses review clinical rationales for school required vaccines, and cover reporting and school notification processes

Immunization Skills Institute Training

The Immunization Skills Institute (ISI) is hands-on training to assist with medical assistants and other allied health care professionals on storage, handling, and administration of vaccines in collaboration with Public Health Nurses in the San Diego County.

Infection Control Practices for Schools Training

The Epidemiology School Response Team will evaluate each school's preventative and mitigation measures including:

  • Cleaning and sanitation practices
  • Ventilation and filtration
  • Testing (if applicable)
  • Contact tracing
  • Signage promoting health behavior
