AACHAF Grant Project Comment Form

In 2020, the Minneapolis Department of Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) was awarded an African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund Grant (https://savingplaces.org/african-american-cultural-heritage#.YXG99xrMJPY) through the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Grants from the fund are designed to advance ongoing preservation activities for historic places representing African American cultural heritage. The City has hired a consultant team comprised of Lange Johnson Development, Equity Strategies, LLC, and 106 Group to conduct citywide community outreach on the needs and wants of the African American community relative to heritage preservation. We invite you to share your input through this form. Responses will be compiled into a final report that summarizes engagement efforts and identifies potential sites of significance. This report will lay the foundation for a future comprehensive Minneapolis African American Historic and Cultural Context Study. The context study will help document, honor, and preserve African American heritage in Minneapolis.
