Join the conversation and register for NACCHO's Reducing Breastfeeding Disparities in the U.S. Southeast Community of Practice (CoP)!

Objectives:

  • Strengthen public health breastfeeding support and early childhood nutrition practices
  • Foster collaboration & Encourage innovation
  • Elevate community stakeholders as leaders and solution-developers


Eligibility:

  • Be a representative of a local health department in the U.S. Southeast region
  • Have interest in addressing breastfeeding disparities for African American and non-Hispanic Black communities in the U.S. Southeast region


Priority states:

  • Alabama, Arkansas, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
  • Priority local health departments from the priority states are listed in the 'Select your LHD' section.


Goals of CoP:


NACCHO hopes to provide space for LHD representatives to feel encouraged to connect and share best practices, community contexts, innovative solutions, and goals for improving breastfeeding support and nutrition security for young children across the U.S. Southeast region.


To ensure equitable participation, NACCHO will host two virtual meetings for all members in April and July 2025. NACCHO will also host recommended in-person regional meetings in May 2025, with reimbursement opportunities available to cover costs of attendance, as designated.
