Travel Signature

You need a valid travel signature on the second page of your I-20 if you are traveling outside the U.S.


To request a travel signature, please follow the steps below:


1) Submit this form at least 5 days before your travel. If your dependent is traveling with you, their I-20 needs to be signed as well.


2) Your travel signature is valid for one year (6 months for students on OPT). If you need to renew your travel signature, please submit this form again.


3) Before your travel, inform your teachers about your absences, and communicate with them so you can catch up with the missed classes.


4 ) You must bring the following items when re-entering the U.S.:

- I-20 with a valid travel signature

- Passport valid for a minimum of six months beyond the date of your re-entry

- F-1 student visa that is valid and allows multiple entries

- Evidence of financial resources, such as a bank statement

- Unofficial transcript

- ISP contact information

- Students on OPT should also bring the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) card and a letter from their current or anticipated employer.


ISP will review your request and send your I-20 with a travel signature by e-mail or ask you to come to the office.
