Life Insurance:
The State of Illinois pays for life insurance equal to the employer’s annual salary. Coverage up to 8x times is available. Spouse/Child Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (ADD) is also available.
Personal Leave:
Employees receive three (3) personal leave days (22.5 hours) per calendar year on January 1. Please note personal days will be prorated based on the employment start date. Personal days must be used in the year they are awarded.
Vacation Leave:
Vacation time is earned monthly and awarded the first day of the following month in which it is earned. Below is a breakdown of vacation time earned based on length of service.

Sick Leave:
Employees accrue 7.5 hours the first calendar day of the month after it is earned. Sick time can be carried over indefinitely. Additionally, there is no maximum sick time an employee can accumulate. The State Employees Retirement System (SERS) may permit employees to utilize sick leave accrued to increase the employee’s service credit for retirement purposes.
