(2025-2026) Travel Support Scholarship for Home Dialysis University and Virtual Education Program

Open to 2nd and 3rd-year nephrology fellows.

Description

Fellows who are selected for the scholarship will attend the in-person Home Dialysis University (HDU) course held September 14-16, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois, and participate in an 11-session longitudinal virtual educational program hosted by ASN and HDU, taking place between August 2025 and June 2026.

Home Dialysis University (HDU) is a 2.5-day in-person, in-depth, and immersive course on home dialysis therapies. Participants experience didactic and small group interactive workshops that facilitate interaction with peers and faculty to work through case-based approaches for common clinical scenarios likely to be encountered in the management of individuals receiving home dialysis.

During the 11-session longitudinal series, fellows will meet virtually on a monthly basis with scholarship recipient peers for interactive discussions led by expert faculty. Each hour-long virtual session covers one home dialysis topic and is case-based and interactive.

The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) is pleased to provide complimentary meeting costs of up to $1,500 to attend an in-person HDU course for 60 nephrology fellows. Meeting costs include the registration fee*, 2 hotel nights, meals during the meeting and reimbursed travel costs up to $300.

*Scholarship recipients will be required to pay a $125 registration fee to register for the in-person course. The $125 fee will be reimbursed upon completion of the September 14-16 in-person HDU course. Participants must be present the entire in-person course to receive reimbursement of the registration fee.
