2025 Digital Cover Art Contest

The ASCO Self-Evaluation Program (ASCO-SEP®), a leading self-study resource for oncology and hematology professionals since 2008, is hosting an art competition.


Deadline Extended: Submit your original artwork by April 27, 2025, 11:59 PM EST for a chance to be featured on the cover of the 2025 ASCO-SEP Digital book.

Submission Guidelines

Please review the following guidelines before submitting your artwork:


Eligibility & Submission


  • Open to all members of the oncology and hematology community, including trainees.
  • Individual or group submissions are welcome (one person should submit on behalf of the group).
  • Complete this form and upload your artwork by the deadline.


Artwork Criteria


  • Theme: Reflects ASCO's core values of evidence, care, and impact.
  • Originality: Must be original visual art created without the use of Generative AI or AI tools.**
  • Format: High-resolution image in JPEG or PNG format.
  • Description: Include a title, short description explaining the connection to the cancer experience, and the mediums used (e.g., oil painting, graphic art).


Additional Information


  • Only one submission per person/group.
  • Artwork must be submitted by and attributed to the creator(s).
  • Selected artists/groups must sign a copyright assignment to ASCO.
  • Contact information is required for all participants.
  • For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the form.

Your contact information (mailing address, telephone number, email address) is required for our records and will not be sold or shared with any outside parties. The information you provide about your artwork may be used and published by ASCO.


Acceptable Media**


Paintings, drawings, mixed media pieces, and photographs are all eligible for submission.

**Important Notes:

  1. The image should not be conceptualized, created, enhanced, modified, or altered in any way using an Artificial intelligence (AI) image generator/tools or other AI-based software.
  2. The image can be created using a digital pen (e.g. Apple Pencil), and the illustration can be drawn by hand using software such as Sketchbook Pro Illustration Software for iOS on a digital tablet.

In your short description, please include:


  1. How your artwork relates to the cancer experience.
  2. How your artwork reflects one or more of ASCO's core values: evidence, care, and impact.

By sending artwork to ASCO, I grant permission to ASCO and its affiliates to reproduce, use, and publish the artwork and the information provided on this form (except contact information as stated above) as ASCO finds appropriate in connection with its non-profit activities in furtherance of cancer research, care, and prevention. I represent and warrant that I have the right to grant this permission. I understand that the artist(s) will be required to assign the copyright to ASCO in the event that my artwork is selected for this competition.
