Join us for a fun evening at Britannia Mine Museum for a drag show!

Britannia Mine Museum will recruit drag artists from Squamish and Vancouver to transform the 100-year-old copper concentrator into a musical performance space that will be filled with mining town stories and geology puns. An all star cast of drag queens, kings, and non-binary superstars from across British Columbia will help explore the mine’s history through custom lip sync numbers.

The first iteration of Old Town, New Queens in 2022 was Britannia Beach’s first ever drag show, breaking new ground (pun intended) for 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion and representation in a mining-focused event. Subsequent events in 2023 and 2024 grew in attendance, and featured larger casts and more ambitious special effects. Old Town, New Queens was selected as a 2023 BC Tourism Industry Award finalist in the Innovation category.
