Masters Grant Program Application
The ASU Graduate Studies announces Masters degree Reality-based Enhanced & Applied Learning (REAL) Grant STUDENT FELLOWSHIP. The ASU Masters Degree Reality-based Enhanced & Applied Learning Grant (REAL) began in the FALL of 2017. This grant includes a student traineeship that is funded by the Federal Department of Education. It is available to African American/Minority or economically disadvantaged (low income) students who are currently enrolled in the Graduate in STEM programs-Nursing, Athletic Training, etc. The major student support objectives of the grant are to: 1. Improve academic success: through the provision of mentors and tutorial services as indicated to promote retention 2. Successful student recruitment and progression, of well-qualified candidates, and supply a more diverse group of nurses to the workforce, and retain students ambitions for those pursuing a graduate degree in the areas of nursing. The intentions of the fellowship are to provide financial assistance to students with educationally or economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are in pursuit of full-time STEM graduate programs. Students must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.00. Students should also indicate a plan such that the fellowship will increase the student’s ability to take more classes. Students who meet these criteria will be eligible for Fellowships in these graduate STEM areas like Nursing and Athletic Training programs. In consideration of the rigorous nature of the graduate program and availability of classes, full-time pursuit of graduate studies Nursing or Athletic Training may, or may not, comprise a full-time credit hour load during the Summer semester. Each program participant must be a U.S. citizen, (non-citizen national, or foreign national who possesses a visa permitting permanent residence in the United States.) All fellowships are awarded to support academic excellence and relieve financial need so that students can progress through the graduate program in a timely manner. The Fellowships Committee reviews all applications and selects the fellowship awardees. Awardees will be notified of their selection by ASU email or via US mail. This award may affect your financial aid. Should a student be awarded funds for any specific semester and then drop or withdraw from classes, that student’s funding will be rescinded/revoked.
