OER Adoption Application

Thank you for applying for the 2023-2024 OER adoption grant!

As a part of the Open CU Initiative, the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has received an award from the Colorado Department of Education to encourage the adoption of Open Education Resources (OER) on campus. We are seeking CU Anschutz Medical Campus faculty who are willing to integrate a substantial amount of Open Educational Resources into a course. These faculty will be asked to join an OER community of practice and will have instructional design support available throughout the adoption period. In return the faculty will receive a stipend. The goal is to implement OER in the Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 semesters. Please direct any questions to Ellie Svoboda (ellie.svoboda@cuanschutz.edu).

What is OER?

Open Educational Resources are teaching, learning, and research resources that are publicly accessible in a repository and are in the public domain or have been released under a Creative Commons license that permits their free use, reuse, modification, and sharing with others. Digital openly licensed resources can include complete online courses, modular digital textbooks as well as more granular resources such as images, videos, and assessment items. A primary driver of the OER movement is to lower student costs associated with textbooks and other learning material.
