1. PARADE ROUTE – The parade starts at 12:00 p.m. at Duchesne Elementary (across from Bangert Park) 100 S New Florissant Road, Florissant, MO 63031, continues north on New Florissant Road, turns left on Rue St. Francois, continues down rue St. Francois, turns left on St. Ferdinand, turns right on Washington St. where it disperses after passing the Duchesne Council Home Association Grounds (Formerly: Knight of Columbus Grounds) on Washington St.
2. WALKING UNITS –Only 25 walkers are allowed per walking unit (this does not include bands and Irish Dance Schools).
3. DANCE GROUPS - Dance groups may only perform on a flatbed or float and must continually move forward.
4. MOBILE UNITS - Floats can be no taller than 12 ft. Only the first two car clubs (only six cars per club) with approved applications are allowed. All vehicles in the parade must submit proof of insurance with the parade application.
5. DECORATIONS - All mobile entries must be completely covered with decorations (Exceptions: antique cars (50 plus years old) and car club cars). All support vehicles must be completely covered with decorations prior to entering the assembly point, however, the tow vehicle does not have to be decorated. The Parade Official(s) will remove any non-compliant vehicle from the parade.
6. DISTRIBUTION OF ITEMS TO SPECTATORS - Parade participants may not pass out fliers or advertisements. This includes but is not limited to campaign literature or promotional fliers for events or businesses. Elected officials may not pass out anything with their name and position identified. For safety reasons, no one may throw anything from parade vehicles to parade spectators. This will be strictly enforced. A group member/wheel walker walking next to your unit may distribute allowed items (e.g., candy or beads).
7. SOUND - Please indicate type of sound system (if you have sound) on the application.
8. WHEEL WALKERS – There must be always one person per wheel walking along the side of the mobile unit. This person will ensure that there are no children/spectators within the path of the mobile unit. (e.g., 4 wheels 4 walkers; 6 wheels 6 walkers)
9. THE PROGRESS OF ALL PARADE UNITS MUST BE FORWARD. Please do not stop, keep your forward movement, and follow the Parade Official(s) directions to avoid gaps in the parade. All units must complete the entire route to the Duchesne Council Home Association Grounds (Formerly: Knight of Columbus Grounds) on Washington St. Do not leave the parade until you have passed the Duchesne Council Home Association Grounds (Formerly: Knight of Columbus Grounds).
APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED BY FEBRUARY 24, 2023.
- There must be one application for each unit entered.
- You will be notified of your acceptance by February 24, 2023. The Parade Official(s) has final approval of all Parade applications.
- Failure to comply with these parade rules or violation of these parade rules may result in banning the non-compliant or violating unit from future parades.
- After the parade, parade participants should be picked up on rue St. Charles Street in the parking areas
