As Program Director of the Lymphatic Filariasis Support Center at the Task Force for Global Health, after an illustrious career as Program Manager for lymphatic filariasis in Burkina Faso, Dr. Dominique Kyelem personified the spirit and mission of the Coalition for Operational Research on Neglected Tropical Diseases (COR-NTD) – bringing together those who implement neglected tropical disease control and elimination programs and those conducting research to address those programs’ needs.

The annual Kyelem Prize will be awarded to the person who best embodies its namesake's legacy. Nominees should:

1) Have a proven record of bringing together the research and program implementing communities;

2) Demonstrate Dominique Kyelem's qualities of thoughtfulness, open-mindedness and commitment to the cause;

3) Have more than five years' service in neglected tropical disease control, elimination and/or research efforts.
