Presentation Topic Descriptions:
- Budgeting: In this workshop, participants will understand the value of creating a budget, and learn strategies to build a simple budget and pay off debt. They will also learn some core habits to practice and maintain financial health.
- Credit Scores & Reports: In this workshop, participants will learn what a credit score is, its importance, and how to read a credit report. They’ll also learn the tools to maintain a healthy credit score and repair bad credit.
- Debt Management: Participants will explore common reasons why people find themselves in debt and the most common types of debt. They will also describe the value of using debt management strategies such as loan consolidation, budgeting, and debt management plans. Finally, participants will compare various debt management solutions and create a personal plan about how to manage their debt.
- Identity Theft: Debt Management: Participants will explore common reasons why people find themselves in debt and the most common types of debt. They will also describe the value of using debt management strategies such as loan consolidation, budgeting, and debt management plans. Finally, participants will compare various debt management solutions and create a personal plan about how to manage their debt.
- Making Budgets Work: Participants will identify personal obstacles to budgeting and create and apply a structure to track and analyze spending. They will also list short, medium, and long-term goals and discuss the importance of debt reduction and building emergency savings. Ultimately, participants will learn to apply strategies to manage day-to-day spending.
- Preparing for Financial Emergencies: In this workshop, participants will learn how to understand what a financial emergency is, how to prepare for it, and the importance of having an emergency savings plan. Participants will also learn about tools and resources to develop and implement an emergency savings strategy. Lastly participants will develop skills to protect themselves during times of financial emergency or uncertainty.
- Investing at Work: In this workshop, participants will learn to apply best practices for investing in employer-sponsored accounts, as well as learn to understand the advantages and disadvantages of various investment options. In addition, participants will learn how to compare the returns and fees of different investment options and how to implement investing strategies across their portfolio.
- Banking Basics: In this workshop, participants will learn how they can work with financial institutions to help them manage their personal finances, grow their wealth, and safeguard their money. They will learn about the variety of account types available for their needs and receive a primer on how to open a simple account.
- Foundations of Financial Wellness: In this workshop, participants will receive an introductory overview of the main pillars of financial wellness.
