Youth Climate Action Fund

1. Program Objectives and Eligibility Criteria:


The City of West Palm Beach, in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, is pleased to announce the Youth Climate Action Fund, a micro-grant program that supports community-led projects that promote innovation, sustainability, and resiliency in West Palm Beach.


Eligible applicants include those aged 15-24 years old who reside in, and or whose initiatives directly benefit, the City of West Palm Beach.


2. Application Process and Timeline:


Applications must be submitted online through the designated portal by Wednesday, July 31, 2024.


Supporting documents, such as project budgets and letters of support, should be uploaded along with the submission of your application form.


3. Evaluation Criteria:


Proposals will be evaluated based on their alignment with the West Palm Beach Rethink Paradise: Sustainability Action Plan, potential impact on the community, and the feasibility of implementation.


4. Project Proposal Components:


Project Description: Provide a brief overview of the proposed project, including its objectives, target beneficiaries, and anticipated outcomes.


Activities: Outline the specific activities and interventions that will be undertaken as part of the project.


Timeline: Present a timeline indicating key milestones and the expected duration of the project.


Budget: Detail the anticipated expenses associated with the project, including itemized costs and any requested grant funds.


5. Budget and Funding Guidelines:


Grant amounts will range from $1,000 to $5,000 per project.


Funds may be used to cover project-related expenses such as materials, equipment, and community outreach activities.


Budgets should demonstrate cost-effectiveness and clear reasoning for each expense.


6. Reporting and Accountability:


Grant recipients will be required to submit interim and final reports detailing project progress, expenditures, and outcomes.


A template for reporting will be provided to grant recipients upon award notification.
