Tribal Housing Code Clearinghouse

Thank you for your help in developing the STTARS Indigenous Safe Housing Center's clearinghouse of Tribal housing codes. Please use this form to help us understand how Tribal housing law improves the lives of gender-based violence survivors through 'promising practices' or how housing codes are imposing 'barriers' to safe housing.

Additionally, Part III of the form allows you to provide a link to or a file of the housing codes you are referencing. Please include the code(s) to the best of your ability.

If you have any questions or issues with the form below, please reach out to us at housing@niwrc.org.

Please provide the website of the organization you represent or your tribe's official webpage.

II. Effects of Tribal Housing Codes

Please use the spaces provided below to identify specific housing codes affecting gender-based violence survivors and explain how the Tribal Housing codes you've identified either promote 'promising practices' that should be replicated or impose 'barriers' that should be addressed.

Please provide the name of the Tribe, Inter-Tribal Council, or Tribally Designated Housing Entity that enacted the code.

If you are unsure, please provide the name of the Tribe that is bound by the housing code.

Promising Practices are ways in which the law ensures or provides access for gender-based violence survivors to safe housing and public resources.

Barriers are ways in which the law, either purposefully or in the way it is enforced, reduces or inhibits access for gender-based violence survivors to safe housing and public resources.

Please use the space below to tell us how gender-based violence survivors have been actually affected by the housing policies you've identified.

Are you requesting Technical Assistance from STTARS?*
