Harm Reduction Clearinghouse Application:
Schools/Colleges/Universities
Thank you for your interest in the Save Lives Oregon (SLO) Harm Reduction Clearinghouse Project! The SLO Harm Reduction Clearinghouse offers no cost harm reduction supplies intended to prevent overdose, infection and injury related to substance use.
For eligible schools, colleges, universities, and School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) across Oregon and Tribal communities, the SLO Harm Reduction Clearinghouse will provide limited numbers of overdose reversal kits to be installed in campus buildings for access in the event of an overdose emergency situation. These state-funded kits are provided at no cost to the schools, colleges, universities and SBHCs.
The Save Lives Oregon Harm Reduction Clearinghouse will provide up to three (3) overdose reversal kits to each eligible school and one (1) overdose reversal kit to each eligible SBHC.
Each kit will include the following:
- 1 wall-mounted naloxone box
- 8 doses of nasal naloxone (Narcan®)
- 2 CPR face shields
- Poster set (in English and Spanish)
- Where to find the overdose kit
- How to administer nasal naloxone
Eligibility Criteria: The SLO Harm Reduction Clearinghouse is currently accepting applications from the following educational institutions:
- School Districts (on behalf of their eligible schools), Private and Charter schools
- Due to limited funding, we are only accepting applications for schools that teach at least one of the following grades: 7, 8 , 9 , 10, 11, 12
- For example: K-8=eligible, K-6=not eligible
- Colleges
- Universities
- SBHCs
Alternative Sources for No- or Low-Cost Naloxone:
- No-cost: Direct Relief’s “Free Narcan® for Schools Program” is sponsored by Emergent BioSolutions – any K-12 school can sign up to receive 2 free boxes (4 doses) of Narcan®. Schools interested in a Narcan® donation through this program should contact USAprograms@directrelief.org.
- Low-cost: Contact info@savelivesoregon.org for information on how to purchase Narcan® at reduced public interest pricing direct from the manufacturers, Emergent BioSolutions.
Additional Information:
- Please only submit one application per school district, private or charter school, community college or university. Duplicate applications from the same school district or school will be rejected.
- Once an application is submitted, we will response within 7 - 14 business days. School districts, private and charter schools, colleges and universities can expect to receive overdose reversal kit(s) within 2-3 months. For any questions, please contact info@savelivesoregon.org.
- This is a one-time order form; we are currently not accepting applications for refills. See section above on no- or low-cost naloxone sources for where to access additional doses of naloxone.
