AIC collects your annual winter grazing plans to meet your obligations under freshwater environment standards. Thank you for taking the time to complete the questions below. If you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The person completing this form must have the authority on farm to implement an Intensive Winter Grazing (IWG) management plan.

Are you winter grazing in 2025?*

Winter grazing regulations apply to any animal grazed on unlifted forage crop between 01 May and 30 September of the same year. If you are not grazing on your farm over this period in 2025, select 'no' then scroll to the bottom of this form and click the submit button.

If yes, provide me with a wintering report?

Fill this in only if some or all of your cattle are being grazed off farm during the wintering period in 2025.

Farm Overview

Your intended winter grazing area determines whether your IWG plan is compliant with legislation or if a Resource Consent is required.

Provide your total winter grazing area for the upcoming year.

Any increase in wintering on crop which may create greater than a 10% increase in nitrogen or phosphorus loss based on your long-term average will need to have an FSC application made to AIC to be compliant.

Please keep records of your IWG in case evidence is requested by ECan. For example, photos of stock exclusion from Critical Source Areas (CSAs).
