Homeowner Exemptions

If the work is being PERFORMED BY THE HOMEOWNER the insurance and bond are not required.

 

Contractor Requirements

If a contractor is performing the excavation, a *Certificate of Liability Insurance and a *License & Permit Bond or *Cash Bond must be on file with the City of Florissant Engineering Office before a permit can be issued and excavation in the City right-of-way can begin. 1. A *Certificate of Liability Insurance must be in the sum of $100,000 for bodily injury to all persons in one occurrence, and $25,000 for all property damaged in one occurrence. The City of Florissant must be named as additionally insured on the certificate. 2. A *License & Permit Bond or *Cash Bond is required before the City will issue a permit. A *Cash Bond can be obtained In lieu of a License & Permit Bond with the City of Florissant for $2,000.00 and can be paid for with cash, a cashier's check, or a credit card transaction (a non-refundable service fee of 2.6% is applied to card transactions in addition to the principal amount paid). A request for funds to be released cannot be made prior to 30 days after concrete placement. Please allow 1 to 2 weeks for processing a bond fund release.

 
 

Must be a person that is affiliated with the Contractor Company and agrees to receive email updates when Bond and Insurance expiration dates are near.
