Public Commissioner Nomination Form

We’re excited to open the call for nominations for Public Commissioners to serve on the ACCET Accrediting Commission. Public Commissioners play a vital role in bringing an external perspective to our work—ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in accreditation decisions.

This is the first step in a two-part process. In this form, we’re asking for basic information about the nominee. Whether you're submitting your own name or nominating someone else, please complete all required fields to ensure the nomination can be considered.

Who can serve as a Public Commissioner?

Eligible individuals must not be affiliated with any institution accredited by or seeking accreditation from ACCET, and must not have immediate family members in such roles. Ideal candidates are experienced professionals in fields such as public service, non-profit leadership, K–12 education, community engagement, private-sector leadership, or represent employers or practitioners in the fields accredited by ACCET.

Public Commissioners are expected to participate in three in-person Commission meetings per year (April, August, and December), with committee work conducted virtually between meetings. Terms begin in late 2025 or early 2026, following confirmation by the Commission.
