Co-Responder (CORE) MENTOR
Statement of Interest
The CORE program, a National Law Enforcement Training and Technical Assistance Consortium (LETTAC) initiative launched by the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), is a pilot initiative designed to support law enforcement agencies, victim service partners, and advocates interested in implementing co-responder programs in their communities. The program aims to enhance responses to crimes of violence against women by leveraging the co-responder model. This model enables communities to improve safety, alleviate pressure on the criminal justice system, and provide timely, critical support and services to victims during their moments of greatest need.
LETTAC seeks experienced professionals—current or former law enforcement officers and/or victim advocates—with expertise in co-responder programs to serve as CORE site mentors. These mentors will offer consistent, long-term support to designated program sites over two years. CORE mentors will collaborate closely with OVW’s LETTAC team and training and technical assistance (TTA) providers to ensure their assigned sites achieve key milestones in their implementation plans. They will deliver focused TTA tailored to align with and enhance each site’s local co-responder program goals.
Additionally, CORE mentors will develop a community of practice (COP) among participating CORE sites. Through the COP, sites can share insights, best practices, and mutual support, creating a collaborative network to advance the effectiveness of co-responder programs nationwide.
To qualify for this position, the candidate must be available by 4/1/2025. Candidates must be able to devote 8-10 hours per month to consulting with a co-responder team. Some travel will also be required.
