Thank you for nominating outstanding alumni and alumni clubs/groups to be recognized by the NYU Alumni Association!


Nominations submitted for the following awards will be considered for celebration in 2025:

  • Alumni Volunteer & Service Awards - due Tuesday, December 31, 2024
  • NYU Alumni Changemakers - due Friday, December 13, 2024


The nomination period for the Distinguished Alumni Awards has closed. Nominations submitted after October 15, 2024 will be considered for celebration in 2026.


Outstanding nominations may be considered in future selection cycles and/or for alternate awards. Please note that there is no save function, so you will need to complete this form in a single session. To receive an email copy of your submission, please check the box at the bottom of this form.

About NYUAA Awards & Recognition

Each year, the NYU Alumni Association is proud to recognize outstanding alumni and alumni clubs/groups. Nominators may use this form to submit nominations for the following awards:


Individual alumni can be nominated for the following awards and recognitions:


  • Distinguished Alumni Awards - awards for alumni whose personal achievement and/or service in professional, vocational, social, or cultural endeavors brings pride to the University
  • Alumni Volunteer & Service Awards - awards for alumni whose service to the NYU alumni community furthers the mission of the NYU Alumni Association
  • NYU Alumni Changemakers - a recognition for entrepreneurs and visionaries who save lives and spread hope, while promoting ethical values, fostering inclusive dialogue, and driving action


Recognized NYU alumni clubs/groups can be nominated for the following awards:

  • Club of Distinction
  • Event of the Year
  • Innovation of the Year

NYU alumni volunteers, whose service to the NYU alumni community furthers the mission of the NYU Alumni Association. Awards include:

The 2025 Alumni Awards are scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2025 in New York City. Please note that selected Distinguished Alumni Award honorees must be available to attend this ceremony and luncheon in-person. If your nominee already has a conflict on this date, please wait to submit their nomination next year.


  • Distinguished Alumni Award: a respected and distinguished graduate of any school, college, or division of NYU who has demonstrated extraordinary achievement and/or service in professional, vocational, social, or cultural endeavors, and who deserves acknowledgement as embodying the spirit of distinction that brings pride to the University.
  • Distinguished Young Alumni Award: presented to an NYU graduate, who graduated in the past 10 years, for outstanding achievement in business or professional life, or for significantly improving or enhancing the lives of others through outstanding leadership or service. The graduate’s deeds and actions thereby reflect and recognize the importance of their education and bring honor to New York University.
  • Eugene J. Keogh Award for Distinguished Public Service: a respected and distinguished public figure of recognized stature or identity, who has clearly demonstrated a record of outstanding public service in professional, vocational, social, or cultural endeavors, and who, by receiving this award, brings honor to the University.

  • Volunteer(s) of the Year: This award is given to a current alumni volunteer who has demonstrated sustained, exemplary leadership in engaging alumni, and exhibited success in developing and executing meaningful alumni programming for their community within the past year. Current NYUAA Board Officers are not eligible, and self-nominations are NOT accepted for this award.
  • New Volunteer(s) of the Year: This award is given to an alum who assumed a volunteer role within the past year, has demonstrated a commitment to the NYUAA’s mission to engage alumni, exhibited initiative in becoming an effective alumni leader, and cultivated the spirit of NYU pride within their constituency of the alumni community. Self-nominations are NOT accepted for this award.
  • Meritorious Service Award: A respected and distinguished graduate of any school, college, or division of NYU who has demonstrated extraordinary service and continuing devotion to Alma Mater and who embodies the University motto: to Persevere and to Excel. Current NYUAA Board Officers are not eligible.
  • Lifetime Service Award: The Alumni Lifetime Service Award is given to a respected and distinguished graduate of any school, college, or division of NYU, who has provided consistent and exemplary service to the University, the NYU alumni community, and/or the New York University Alumni Association for an extended period of time of at least 40 years.

Officially-recognized NYU-affiliated alumni clubs can be nominated for up to 3 awards:

  • Club of Distinction: This award is given to an alumni club or group that has continuously and consistently developed significant programming to engage the NYU alumni community throughout the previous five years. This award recognizes the alumni club or group's legacy of hard work and commitment to their NYU alumni community. This award recognizes long standing exemplary service and is not given every year. Clubs can only receive this award once.
  • Event of the Year: This award is given to an alumni club or group who executed an impactful academic, social, cultural, career, or community service event, effectively engaging their alumni constituency and furthering the mission of the NYUAA during the past year (June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024). Please note that NYU staff-led programs are ineligible for this award.
  • Innovation of the Year: This award is given to an alumni club or group, or individual volunteer, who executed a unique and innovative community-building idea or strategy effectively engaging their alumni constituency and furthering the mission of the NYUAA during the past year (June 1, 2023 - May 31, 2024). Please note that NYU staff-led programs are ineligible for this award.

Tips for a Strong Nomination

  • We recommend answers for each question be between 100-200 words. Responses should be thorough and give an accurate picture of the nominee's work while being as clear and concise as possible.
  • Avoid use of abbreviations that are specific to the nominee or their industry and may not be easily deciphered.
  • The more specific and detailed a nomination, the better. Providing statistics or data to support the narrative is helpful.

How is This Nominee a Changemaker?

Were they a trailblazer or the first in their area or industry to address this challenge? Tell us how the nominee aimed to solve or address significant and important problems or issues within their field with a clear goal that provides meaningful change.

What were their specific contributions? Why are they singularly responsible for influencing change in this area? Tell us how the nominee's solution to the challenge is innovative, effective, impactful, accessible, and/or motivational. *Please include quantifiable details where applicable.

How has this person made a difference? What are the tangible results of their work? Tell us how the nominee's work has achieved measurable results of groundbreaking, meaningful, or lasting change. *Please include quantifiable details where applicable.

Has the nominee received accolades, awards, etc. for their work? Tell us if/how the nominee has been recognized as a leader in this endeavor.
