"Learning Society" Interest Form

We're excited to be opening micro schools (Learning Societies) across Idaho. Our Learning Societies are powered by our amazing virtual school, Gem Prep: Online. They're Tuition-free, accredited, and provide a rigorous college preparatory education.



QUICK SUMMARY:


Students grades K-5 across the state can now enroll in Gem Prep: Online and join a one-of-a-kind educational experience called a Learning Society. These are a collection of students who come together, to school as a small community of learners.


  • Safe & Comfortable community setting serving 15-20 students with 2 adult paraprofessionals.


  • Learning Society leader is a trained para-educator employed by Gem Prep: Online.


  • Students come to their learning society location and complete their lessons under the supervision of the Learning Society Leader and partner teacher.


  • Students are enrolled in GPO's accredited virtual school and access it from the Learning Society location.



We will be opening more Learning Societies (elementary & secondary) this coming school year.

NEW Gem Prep: Online Learning Societies



Here are a few highlights:

  • Students participate in live lessons in the morning and then spend the rest of their time completing additional learning activities.


  • Students get a chance to engage collaboratively with multi-aged peers & engage in challenging, fun enrichment activities.


  • Students spend 5-6 hours per day engaged in learning activities, making the day considerably more flexible than the average school day.


  • Current Locations: Lewiston, Emmett.


*Each learning society has a 20 student capacity for the 2022-2023 school year.
