  • Full-time sophomore political science students who have demonstrated classroom achievement during the freshman year.

  • Sophomore standing or higher and based on scholastic achievement.

  • Full-time junior or senior political science majors who are active in student government and/or other student organizations at the University of Mississippi.


  • Preference is given to students who attended Boys State, Girls State, or APEX while in high school.


  • Application Deadline: First Friday in February

Eligibility Criteria & Application Deadline



  • Full-time freshman or sophomore political science majors with first preference given to students from Oxford, Mississippi.


  • Application Deadline: First Friday in February


The merit-based award can be retained for up to eight semesters if the recipient is first selected as a freshman (six semesters if selected as a sophomore) as long as the student remains a political science major and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
