Informing you of lessons

  • Students have access to the ‘Instrumental Music Lessons’ TEAM showing the full timetable for the current half term
  • On the weekend before a lesson, parents receive an email giving the time of the next lesson.
  • On the day of their lesson at 07:00, parents receive another email again giving the time of the lesson. Occasionally timetabling changes are made and this time may be different from the time received at the weekend.
  • The current and next day’s lessons are displayed on the door of the practice rooms.

The timetable is rotated, where possible, so students do not miss the same school lesson each week.

Informing you of attendance and progress

After each lesson, parents receive an email lesson report giving:

  • The date and time of the lesson
  • Whether the student attended, was late or did not attend.
  •  A brief comment on progress and what to practice

Billing and Fees

  • The full amount that parents pay is used to recompense the instrumental teacher. We do not include an administration fee.
  • Lessons are normally free for Pupil Premium students.
  • Parents must pay by the last day of the current half term for the next half term’s lessons. We do not timetable lessons if payments are outstanding. No notice to discontinue lessons is required. Timetabling for the subsequent half term’s lessons takes place on the last day of each half term.
  • Payments are made via Scopy and parents receive payments details and confirmation via email.

Credits and Refunds

  • Credits and refunds are given at the discretion of the Head of Creative Arts and the Finance Office. Appeals can be made to the Head Teacher.
  • We will always give a credit or refund when:
  • The instrumental teacher was unable to teach a scheduled lesson e.g. Teacher Absence
  • On the day of the lesson, the subject teacher or member of the leadership team does not allow a student to leave their school lesson to attend their scheduled instrumental lesson. (This happens very rarely)
  • There is a timetable administration error resulting in a missed lesson.
  • We do not give a credit or refund if a student is absent from school.
  • For prolonged absence, with advance notice and agreement from the instrumental teacher, we give a credit or re-timetable lessons.
