ANMF Member Survey: Understanding Staffing Pressures and Solutions

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF) seeking your input to better understand the ongoing impact of vacancies and short staffing across our healthcare settings. We have been advised that vacancy levels across the hospitals have improved, and we want to understand if this is your reality, or if there are other workload pressures that you would like to advise us of. The vacancies Reported to us by the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) are as follows:


    Royal Hobart Hospital (main hospital only, not including Mental Health, ORS (Operating Room Suite/Theatre), WACS (Women's and Children's Services))

    Launceston General Hospital (not including Mental Health, ORS (Operating Room Suite/Theatre), WACS (Women's and Children's Services))

    92.35FTE


    Mersey Community Hospital (Rehab, ED and Medical)

    1.8FTE


    North West Regional Hospital (not including Mental Health)

We have asked for ORS (Operating Room Suite/Theatre) and WACS (Women's and Children's Services) as the next data set along with Mental Health.
