Crowdfunding

Please note: Salem State crowdfunding campaigns must further the mission of Salem State Institutional Advancement by supporting university programs and initiatives. Funds raised through SSU Crowdfunding cannot be redirected to a third-party entity such as an external charity or non-profit. For more information please see https://polaris.salemstate.edu/post/attachment/3878/3rd-party-fundraising-policy. To create a crowdfunding project, the first step is to fill out this application. We will then reach out to you to schedule a phone conversation and provide you with some training. Please submit this application 3-4 weeks in advance of the anticipated start of your campaign. Throughout this application, any mention of the word “Group” collectively refers to any group of individuals seeking to create a crowdfunding campaign. “Groups” may include academic departments, student organizations, groups and clubs, as well as club or university sports teams. Effective July 1, 2020, a portion of each gift is allocated to support development activities in support of the university’s mission. Gifts made to standard, budget relieving projects, departments and groups and clubs incur a 6% Reinvestment Fee. The Reinvestment fee supports donor engagement, and other development efforts, extends the impact of gifts and helps renew the university's public mission and academic excellence.

Information on Anticipated Project Content

Crowdfunding is very visual so we recommend using a combination of videos and photos on your project page as well as in promotions for your project.

Have any of these videos been filmed?*

Approximately how many photos do you anticipate including throughout your 30-day campaign?

Have any of these photos been captured or compiled already?*

Approximately how many "campaign updates" do you plan to include after the initial project launch?

Please provide a list of any group/department pages that will be used to post during the effort. Include the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, website, and/or other url address.
