This will be our 5th year celebrating and putting on Gang Prevention Awareness Week. Our goal is to get every student across Utah to participate in gang prevention during this week. We will end the week with our celebration where we host our annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. We are looking for volunteers that would like to help give back to the community and help make our event run smoothly for our youth. Gang Prevention Awareness Week (S.B. 175 ) was signed on March 21, 2019, by Gov. Herbert. This started as an idea from Choose Gang Free and with the help of some very close friends we were able to get it into the hands of Senator Karen Mayne who helped us push it through. Choose Gang Free has been celebrating Gang Prevention Awareness night nationally for the last 5 years, and are honored and excited to have had one week dedicated to Gang Prevention Awareness here in Utah. Choose Gang Free hosts G.P.A.W. with the help of the Utah Gang Investigators Association and our friends at the Redwood Recreation Center this year.
