King Center Visitor Request Form

The King Center on Global Development welcomes academic visitors who will be active in its community and intellectual life. Visitors will be requested to interact with King Center faculty, postdocs, students, and other visitors on a regular basis.


We prioritize visitors who have a current connection with a King Center Faculty Affiliate willing to serve as their host. This is to ensure that our visitors are well-integrated into the King Center and Stanford global development community, and have ample opportunities to tap into the resources and networks available at the King Center.


If you are an academic interested in visiting the King Center, please submit a request below. We review requests once a quarter.

The King Center has limited funding available for its visitors program. Please note if you will need funding support, and the type of funding/amount needed (e.g., salary support, housing stipend, etc.).

For self-funded visitors, please identify the source(s) of funding that will support your visit.

We want to encourage your involvement in the King Center community. A faculty host can help connect you with seminars, events, and people of similar research areas who can grow your network while you are at Stanford. Please identify a King Center Faculty Affiliate(s) willing to serve as a faculty host for your visit.


Please share the proposed start and end dates for your visit, and note any flexibility that you may have.


The Exchange Visitor Program, administered by the U.S. State Department, allows Stanford to use the J-1 scholar categories to host international researchers and instructors for prearranged periods of time.
