Town of Lake Lure Private & Commercial Property Debris Removal and Demolition Services

This application initiates the eligibility review process to determine your Helene-related debris removal and/or structure demolition needs.


Please have the following documents ready before you begin:


· Government Issued ID (driver’s license, passport, or Real ID) for each property owner

· Power of attorney, trust documents, and/or corporate documentation on behalf of all owners on the deed (if using an authorized agent)

· Insurance policy

· Declaration pages

· Debris removal coverage section/page

· Statement of losses (if an adjuster has visited the property)

· Sketch of property identifying locations of all hazards (a simple hand-drawn sketch is fine)


Please note: Signing this Right of Entry (ROE) form does not guarantee debris removal or structure demolition. Eligibility will be determined based on program requirements following a property review.

  • Debris: Debris refers to materials, waste, and wreckage resulting from a disaster, such as trees, branches, construction materials, furniture, personal belongings, and other items that may obstruct access or create health and safety hazards. FEMA-authorized debris removal focuses on items that directly result from the disaster and impede recovery efforts.


  • Demolition: Demolition is the process of safely and completely tearing down and removing structures that are damaged beyond repair by the disaster, posing a threat to public safety or hindering recovery. FEMA supports the demolition of unsafe structures when they meet specific eligibility requirements, ensuring the area is cleared and safe for potential rebuilding.

Per North Carolina legal requirements, please provide the names of and email addresses for two witnesses.
