FTC FIRST Washington Registration 2025-2026

All teams are required to fill out the FIRST Washington team registration form in order to participate. This is to help us better track the demographic and other information about our teams.

FIRST Washington needs this information to apply for grants that we can pass along to you as well as to report back to donors for funds allocated.

You will need to fill out this registration form to be placed in a league. Teams who fill out this form after the end of September will be placed in the league closest to them that has space.

If you are interested in applying for the FIRST Washington grant, make sure you check yes in the Grant section. The deadline to fill this form out for a grant is the end of September.

Creating a Diverse Team

Diversity provides the potential for innovation by leveraging different backgrounds, experiences, and points of view. Diversity of experience and expertise are very important as well.

Very few mentors in the FIRST Washington programs started out as robotics experts. Many of our most important community members are not technical at all! A very wide set of skills are useful to a FIRST Washington team (business, technical, logistics, interpersonal skills, drivers, chaperones, etc.).

Placing a priority on your team's diversity while modeling good listening skills for your students will help create an inclusive environment where imagination and cooperation will flourish. Recognizing diversity in the communities you serve and developing teams that reflect that diversity is an expected outcome for all teams.

Student recruitment should also result in creating opportunities for students who have not had any experiences with STEM. They will have other strengths that will compliment the engineers on your team, and the cross-functional learning that will take place will expose every student to new opportunities and ideas for possible career paths.
