Speakers Bureau Application
Are you passionate about the mission of Second Harvest of Silicon Valley? Do you love speaking and networking with different groups of people? Then maybe our Speakers Bureau Team would be a great place for you to volunteer!
This is a fantastic opportunity for charismatic and engaging individuals to become an ambassador for Second Harvest of Silicon Valley at a variety of local events (presentations, employee fairs, community events, etc.).You will provide vital information to the community members, civic organizations, and our many supporters about hunger in wealthy Silicon Valley and what Second Harvest is doing about the issue. You will be provided with all the collateral and equipment needed to attend these events, and you will work closely with veteran Speakers Bureau and Second Harvest staff as part of your training.
Requirements:
- Complete all required training sessions
- Attend a 30-minute one-on-one session with the Community Engagement Department
- Attend a 1-hour onboarding training session
Shadow Events:
- Cypress Tour
- Virtual/In-person Presentations
- Check Presentations
- Resource Fairs
Lead a Community Event or Presentation
Responsibilities:
• Represent Second Harvest at a variety of community events
• Lead tours of Second Harvests warehouse at Cypress
• Attend check presentations and/or fundraisers to thank supporters and donors
• Raise awareness about the issue of hunger in our community
• Educate and inspire our community about how to get involved with Second Harvest
• Maintain an understanding of the history, mission, and impact of Second Harvest
• Complete a brief evaluation following speaking engagements
• Participate in a Speakers Bureau Volunteer training
• Have fun!
