Wood Badge request form

The purpose of this form is to notify the UK Headquarters Scout Awards Team about Wood Badges that were completed prior to the launch of the new membership system but the 'Recommend Wood Badge button on Compass was never pressed for a this Wood Badge.


All the requirements of the Wood Badge must have been achieved and members learning records will be checked to ensure their completion. If the member had modules in Compass that were not validated, the Wood Badge will not be awarded.


The person completing this form should hold the role of Volunteering Development Team Leader or Lead Volunteer.


This form is used to collect personal data about the person filling in the form and the Wood Badge recipient.

Upon receipt of the request, the Scout Awards Team will process the data and approved Wood Badges will be sent out in the next quarterly awards mail out (February, May, August, November).

Where the Wood Badge will be sent

After it's approved by UK Headquarters, this Wood Badge will be sent out in the next quarterly awards mail out to whomever has been assigned the Awards Parcel Recipient accreditation (or if no one holds this accreditation, then the Lead Volunteer) for the relevant location*.


*The 'relevant location' is based upon the location selected on this form as to where the Wood Badge was obtained. But please note that as Awards Parcel Recipient accreditations are only available at District level and above, if you have listed a Group as the location, then the Wood Badge will be sent out to whichever District this Group sits under in the hierarchy.

When the Wood Badge will be uploaded to the membership system

After it's approved by UK Headquarters and has been sent out in a quarterly awards mail out, the Wood Badge will then be uploaded to the relevant members profile on the membership system.


This process occurs quarterly:

  • Wood Badges sent out in February will appear on records in April.
  • Wood Badges sent out in May will appear on records in July.
  • Wood Badges sent out in August will appear on records in October.
  • Wood Badges sent out in November will appear on records in January.
