Your chapter name should follow one of the two following naming conventions:
1) Institution SACNAS Chapter or 2) SACNAS Chapter at Institution.
Examples include: "Napa Valley College SACNAS Chapter", "SACNAS Chapter at Haskell Indian Nations University".
Examples include: "Napa Valley SACNAS Chapter", "SACNAS Chapter at HINU".
Your chapter should have a general email account for interested people to be able to contact your chapter.
This may be an email setup through your institution (e.g. sacnas@usc.edu) or through a free email service (e.g. ucsacnas@gmail.com).
A minimum of 10 student members are required to start a new chapter. Members are highly encouraged to have a SACNAS membership.
If you are a TCU or Community College, a minimum of 4 members are required.
Enter the number amount of members regardless of SACNAS Membership status.
Your chapter advisor(s) is the faculty and/or staff that provide mentorship to your students and guidance on chapter activities. Your advisor(s) should have input in their advisor letter(s) of support (see the Required Attachments section at end for more details). We recommend chapters to have at least 1 or 2 advisors.
If you are a TCU or Community College, your advisor can be remote if you are not able to find one at your institution.
A minimum of 1 chapter advisor is required to start a new chapter. The advisor must have an active SACNAS membership and be a college/university faculty or administrator.

If you have any social media accounts or a website for you chapter, please include them here.
(optional) 300 word max. Examples may include: seeking grants through your institution, collecting sales, and/or collecting donations.
300 word max. Examples may include: guidance on academic transitions, resources to prepare for a career in STEM, and opportunities to enhance their leadership skills.
300 word max. Examples may include: collaborating with student organizations, resources centers, and institution leaders to provide members with research and leadership opportunities, as well as funding for members to participate and represent institutions in national conferences.
300 word max. Examples may include: engaging with K-12 schools and other local organizations to encourage students to pursue careers in STEM, advocating for local policies that positively impact underrepresented students in STEM. Mentoring and tutoring opportunities, as well as social activities outside of the class and research environments.
Your application must include all of the following four documents.
Attach a roster of all student members, advisors, and supporting faculty/staff. All members are highly encouraged to have an active SACNAS membership.
At least 10 members are required to apply. (if you are a TCU or Community College, at least 4 members are required).
Please list all members regardless of SACNAS Membership status.

The advisor(s) must provide a one page letter that states their commitment to serve as advisor to the student chapter and thoroughly explain how they will support and foster the development of the chapter. If your chapter has multiple advisors, they must all provide letters that also indicate how their roles differ from each other and how they work together to support the chapter.
Your student chapter should be registered and in compliance with all campus policies relating to student organizations at your institution. The verification should be a letter or written email from your institution to verify that your chapter is recognized by them as a student organization.
