*IEEE CONSUMER TECHNOLOGY SOCIETY OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD

Description:

To recognize an individual who has distinguished and outstanding service contributions for the benefit and advancement of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc) and its members. Contributions include (but are not limited to) volunteering in executive positions in various levels of the Society, serving on editorial boards, technical committees, standards, planning and organizing major events such as conferences, symposia, and workshops, developing community resources, mentorship, and leading international outreach. Contributions are not limited to the current year.

Administration:

IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc)

Eligibility:

The selection process shall comply with procedures and regulation established in IEEE and Society/Council governing documents, particularly with IEEE Policy 4.4 on Awards Limitations. The candidate(s) must be a member of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc) for at least 5 years. Members of either the IEEE CTSoc Awards Committee, IEEE CTSoc Officers, or IEEE CTSoc Board of Governors are not eligible to be nominees, nominators, or endorsers of a nominee for this Award. Self-nominations for this award will not be accepted.

Ineligibility:

Previous award winners are not eligible (per IEEE Policies 4.4: An individual shall receive only one award for a given achievement unless the outstanding service merits a higher award, which may be given in the following year or thereafter. Members of the IEEE CTSoc Awards Committee are not eligible to be nominators or endorsers of a nominee for this Award. Self-nominations for this award will not be accepted.

Prize:

Single Annual Award. A plaque will be given to the awardee.

Frequency:

The Award may be given annually, and only if a suitable individual is identified.

Funds:

The IEEE Consumer Technology Society will administer the award out of its annual Society operations budget.

Nominee Solicitation:

Nominations will be openly solicited each yearand decided by the Awards Committee. Nominations may also be received from the Nominations Committee appointed by the President of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society. The nomination online form "IEEE Consumer Technology Outstanding Service Award" will be made available online at the IEEE CTSoc Awards website. A call for nomination will be sent via eNotice and the monthly CTSoc newsletter. Nominators will submit online the nomination form.

Awards Committee:

The Awards Committee of the Society and its responsibilities are defined in the CTSoc Bylaws.

Schedule:

Nominators will submit the nomination forms by the end of July. Based on the nomination application, the Awards Committee will select the awardee by the end of October only if a suitable individual is identified.

Presentation:

The award will be presented at one of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society's annual conferences.

Publicity:

The Award will be published in the Consumer Technology Society Magazine, CTSoc World, and website.
