Our Fargo Pediatric team works collaboratively to ensure every child receives the highest standard of care in a safe and nurturing environment.

Sanford Health would love to help you achieve your career goals as a Child Life Specialist. The Child Life Sponsorship offers financial assistance to support tuition and other expenses while you progress through your school’s Child Life program. Upon graduation, the sponsored student will partner for a full-time employment commitment at Sanford Health as a Child Life Specialist for three years. Current students are eligible to apply. This sponsorship can be used in conjunction with other financial aid.

ELIGIBILITY

• Must be enrolled in a full-time Child Life Program that meets course requirements.
• Students who are actively taking courses to qualify sitting for the Child Life Certification Exam are eligible/encouraged to apply. As a requirement to sit for the Child Life Certification Exam, students must complete a (minimum) 600 hour clinical internship. (The internship does not need to be completed before you apply!)
• Must sign a contract before payments are processed
• Must commit to participating in Sanford Check-Ins (email, phone, or in person) during program of study

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

• Sponsorship is $15,000 for a 3-year full-time work commitment
• Recipients are not eligible for any Sanford Health Hiring Bonus being offered at the time of employment.
• Recipients agree to work for Sanford Health as a Child Life Specialist for a period of 3 years in a full-time status after successful graduation.
• Forgiveness will begin upon receipt of full-time status as a Child Life Specialist.
• Failure to comply with any of the requirements of this program will result in repayment of the loan with interest.

• Essay on why you chose a Child Life major and what you look to gain from working at Sanford Health (Max 500 words)
• Letter of Recommendation (this cannot be a family member)

•  Deadline to apply is 3 months prior to student's graduation

FUNDING

Sanford Health provides this financial resource directly to the students selected through the application process. Any and all taxes associated with this financial resource become due at the time of forgiveness. You will see the taxes being deducted in the tax year of your employment as a full time Child Life Specialist. This is in accordance with the Internal Revenue Services’ guidelines.
