I-20 Extension Request Form for International Students

F-1 students are admitted to the U.S. for "duration of status" to complete their studies by the program end date located on the I-20. Under certain circumstances, a student may need to extend this end date. An extension must be completed before the current end date.

Student Information I-20 Extension

1) This form must be submitted to ISS BEFORE the original program end date. Failure to apply for this extension before the expiration date is a violation of the student's F-1 status. 2) The student must follow enrollment requirements for the final semester (even if the extended semester is a summer semester)

Final Semester Rules

1) Students must register for a St. Edward's face-to-face course (50% of credits must be at SEU unless offerings are limited. When needed credits are not offered, 1-3 hours at SEU are required to keep the student's I-20 active). 2) Students may not register for an internship course if the credits are not needed to complete their program. 3) Students are limited in the number of online classes they can receive credit for each semester. Check with ISS about your plans if you have any questions.
