Applied Data Analytics Training Opportunity

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration is funding two Applied Data Analytics (ADA) training classes delivered by the Coleridge Initiative, in partnership with the state of Arkansas and under a grant to the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA).

Both training classes will focus on the cross-section of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs and services, linked to employment and wage outcomes.

Applications are due by August 29, 2023. Applications will be considered in the order they are received; i.e., first come, first served.

Teams from states new to the ADA training and the Administrative Data Research Facility (ADRF) and those with experience with the ADA training and the ADRF are both encouraged to apply. States may be considered “new” if all proposed team members have not been previously involved in an ADA training or have not otherwise worked with state data in the ADRF.

State teams of three or six are encouraged to apply:

  • Teams of three must include at least one individual experienced in coding in computer programming languages (e.g., R, SQL) and representation from at least two state agencies or distinct policy domains (e.g., workforce and labor market information, Unemployment Insurance, WIOA, SNAP, TANF, K-12 education, post-secondary education).

  • Teams of six must include at least two coders and representation from at least three, but preferably four, state agencies or distinct policy domains.
