Please use this form to nominate 4th-year students for the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.
Nominations for the award may be submitted by faculty members, fellow TAs, or students. (Self-nominations are not permitted).
The Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award recognizes an outstanding 4th-year student who is (or has been) a Teaching Assistant (TA) who demonstrates exceptional commitment to undergraduate education. This award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to student learning through consistent, accurate teaching in and outside the classroom, dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive academic environment, and possibly administrative and management efforts of organizing other TAs.
AWARD CRITERIA
The recipient of the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award may have demonstrated any of the following:
Effective Teaching Practices:
- Recognition from students as an effective educator.
- Consistent high evaluations from students and/or faculty supervisors.
- Use of creative and engaging teaching techniques that enhance student understanding and participation.
- Clear communication of complex concepts and facilitation of learning in diverse settings.
Student Engagement and Support:
- A demonstrated ability to connect with all students and address their academic needs.
- Consistent efforts to provide academic support, including office hours, review sessions, and individualized feedback.
- Contributions to fostering an inclusive and welcoming educational environment.
Impact Beyond the Classroom:
- Leadership in TA development and peer teaching support.
