Mobile Workshops

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING WORKSHOP REQUESTS FOR 2024.


LOCATION:

On-site at your location. We prioritize groups in the Jane-Finch/Black Creek neighbourhood for mobile workshops.


PROGRAM INFO:

  • Workshops are available for all ages
  • We adapt each workshop to be age-appropriate
  • All workshops offered can be linked to the Ontario curriculum
  • We provide hands-on experiential learning
  • Each workshop includes program kits or materials


PROGRAM FEES:

  • $500 + HST for a half-day (2-hour) workshop
  • $750 + HST for a full-day (4-hour) workshop
  • Schools can book a class for the whole session, or up to four classes in 1-hour increments
  • Local groups within our catchment area (M3N, M9M, M9L, M3J, M3L) or groups that serve within a low-income community in Toronto/York Region can request a subsidy to cover workshop fees

Program Request

Grow Your Food

  • Learn about what plants need in order to grow, the benefits of eating local, and grow your own food from seed. This program includes a tasting component.

Vermicomposting

  • Learn about soil health, reducing food waste, the benefits of composting with worms, and how to maintain a vermicomposting system. Option to build a worm bin to keep.

Native Tree Planting

  • Learn how to identify native trees by their unique characteristics, the names for trees in Anishnaabemowin, explore how planting native trees builds our tree canopy and helps reduce carbon emissions into our atmosphere. This workshop includes planting native tree seeds to nurture at home or in the classroom.


Please Note:

Program materials and kits are included for the above workshops. Special requests may incur additional fees.

Schools can request different topics for each 1-hour increment of their session.
