Kai Keepers -

hospitality industry food waste

pilot interest form

In early 2024 the Restaurant Association and partners, Edge Impact, are undertaking a pilot programme - Kai Keepers - to address food waste in the hospitality industry. The insights we gather as part of the pilot will help us to develop tools and resources to help members, and the industry overall, to reduce food waste.

We are inviting members who are interested in taking part in the pilot. The programme is being developed to minimise disruption to your business, but will deliver some key insights on your food waste and where you can make some changes. You'll need to commit to two short term trials to measure your food waste: a 1-week baseline food waste assessment and a 4-week pilot programme to test food waste interventions.

  • Baseline Assessment stage (1 week) between: February - April 2024
  • Pilot Phase (4 weeks) between July 2024 - February 2025

We'll provide participants with scales and bins to use to measure food waste during the pilot phases.

If you are keen to sign up for the pilot, or want to find out more, fill out your details and we will be in touch, or contact us on 0800 737 827.
