National Golf Awards 2018

The National Golf Awards celebrate excellence and success in our golfing community.

This is your opportunity to nominate a person or organisation that deserves to be recognised.

Nominations close 15 December 2018.

• Nominations are invited from anyone.

• Clubs must be affiliated to both a District Association and New Zealand Golf to be eligible.

Please consider any of the below;

• Evidence of a strong governance structure aligned to growth of the game and successful achievement of KPI’s.

• Commitment to equity (Gender, Age, Ethnicity) for all participants at the club.

• Growth in member and/or participant statistics.

• Success in terms of financial performance.

• Growing the numbers of active coaches and supporting their development.

• Effective utilisation of NZ Golf tools and support structures, LOVEGolf, Casual Golf Registration, Get on the Green etc.

• Development and implementation of innovative approaches

• Commitment to the community by increasing accessibility or delivering value back to them.

• Nominations are invited from anyone including individuals, Clubs and District Associations.

• The nominee must be employed by a golf club that is affiliated to both a District Association and New Zealand Golf to be eligible.

Please consider:

• A manager serving the game at club who is considered to have made an outstanding contribution to the growth, success, enjoyment or profile of the game.

• Demonstration of successfully implementing NZ Golf/GMANZ support initiatives (She Loves Golf, Get on the Green, CMAA BMI.)

• Successful implementation of a change or new initiative.

• Contributing to the development and growth of those around them.

• Developing innovative approaches to challenges faced by the club.

• Delivering positive impact to the community surrounding the golf club.

Award Criteria to Consider:

• An administrator serving the sport at club, District, regional and/or national level and who is considered to have made an outstanding contribution to the growth, success, enjoyment or profile of the game in their administrative role.

• Demonstration of them contributing to the growth, success, enjoyment or profile of the game through effective planning and implementation.

• Demonstration of them contributing to the development and growth of those around them.

• Demonstration of successfully implementing a change or new initiative.

• Examples of them bringing honour and respect to the game of golf and being recognised as such in the wider golf community and beyond.

• The nominee must be a member of a Golf Club which is affiliated with New Zealand Golf.


Please consider:

• Demonstration of the volunteer sharing their time, effort and skills in support of their Golf Club, District Association or for the game of Golf.

• The impact and outcomes through this contribution.

- Enhancing the enjoyment or development of junior and adult participants.
- Furthering the success and growth of a Golf Club or event.
- Assisting with or mainly responsible for the presentation of the golf course.
- Raising the profile of the game.

• Description of how they share their time, efforts and skill to lead the positive impacts mentioned above.

• Both long-term and short-term results can be considered.

• The nominee must be a full member of a golf club which is affiliated to New Zealand Golf.

Award Criteria:

• Demonstrated outstanding success.

• Demonstrated dedication to, and a love for the game of golf.

• Demonstrated an innovative approach to maximise play.

• Has increased the profile of golf for disabled athletes.

• Coach must be a current affiliated member of the PGA of NZ.

Please consider:

1. Successful contribution to the growth and development of players throughout the year.

2. Considerate and understanding of players individual needs.

3. Players can provide feedback to support application.

4. Coach delivers an enjoyable and effective training environment.

5. Coach shares times and knowledge in the development of the coaching scene.

6. Coach uses innovative approaches to grow the love of the game.

• Player holding a prominent official world golf ranking.

• Player exhibits a respect for the game and sets a suitable example for others.
