The scholarship application will be open from September 6th - October 1st. The scholarship committee will notify recipients in late November for winter term award.

Division of Counseling Scholarships*

You may apply for multiple scholarships, however some scholarships are program/major specific.

MFT-Marriage & Family; SC=School Counseling; and CAC=Clinical Addictions Counseling

Applicants planning to enroll as full-time students (6+ hours) in the Graduate Counseling program may qualify for $1,000 each semester. Two new awards will be made annually. This is a competitive scholarship requiring:

  • an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.5.
  • Decisions will be based on evidence of academic scholarship,
  • a written statement of professional goals,
  • evidence of research experience,
  • a written statement of faith, and
  • written recommendations.
  • Graduate Record Exam quantitative and verbal scores will also be considered.

Continued eligibility is possible by maintaining a 3.5 GPA, remaining at full-time student status, and continuing as a student in good standing throughout the graduate program.

Applicants planning to enroll as full-time students (6+ credit hours) in a Graduate Counseling degree program may qualify for $1,000 each semester. Two new awards will be made annually. This is a competitive scholarship requiring:

  • an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.25.
  • Applicants should be able to show evidence of exceptional skills in and a passion for the field of counseling.
  • Decisions will be based on evidence of experience in the field of counseling,
  • a written statement of professional goals,
  • a written statement of faith,
  • and written recommendations.

Continued eligibility is possible by maintaining a 3.25 GPA, remaining at full-time student status, and continuing as a student in good standing throughout the graduate program.

It was the desire of Janet Bramsen to establish this endowment to financially support the Graduate Marriage and Family Counseling program at Indiana Wesleyan University. Preference shall be given to graduate students majoring in marriage and family counseling who exemplify Christian character and demonstrated excellence in their personal, spiritual, and academic endeavors.

Candidates to be considered:

  • Must show financial need as demonstrated by the financial information obtained by the Director of Financial Aid
  • Must maintain a GPA of 2.5
  • Pursuing a Masters of Arts with a major in Marriage & Family Counseling

Established by Karen Rosenberger in memory of her husband, James Rosenberger, who was a Counseling professor at IWU for 14 years. The minimum annual award is established by Indiana Wesleyan University and is subject to change at any time. At the time of this agreement, September 13, 2018, the award is $1000.00.

Candidates must:

  • show financial need through the filing of federal financial aid (FAFSA)
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • Pursuing a Masters degree in School Counseling
  • Be a member of an underrepresented or marginalized group (including, but not limited to underrepresented racial and ethnic populations, low income, individuals with disabilities, etc.)

It is the desire of the Bow Family to establish the Bow Family Endowed Scholarship Fund in memory of the life of Mrs. Kathy Bow and financially support students at Indiana Wesleyan University in the Addictions Counseling program.

The amount to awarded will be based each year on the spending policy by the Board of Trustees of IWU.

Candidates for consideration:

  • Pursuing a Masters a degree in Addictions Counseling
  • Must excel in Christian character as exemplified in their lifestyle and classwork.
  • Indiana state resident
  • Must show financial need as demonstrated by the financial information obtained by the Director of Financial Aid.
