DSA Assessment welcomes requests for data from DSA units, campus partners, and affiliates. This form is intended to help you articulate your project and data needs. DSA Assessment can assist units’ data needs for the categories outlined below. If your request involves sensitive or broader-level data, our office will contact you directly if a data request should be submitted to another VCU division or department. Please use the VCU Data Classification Tool to determine the sensitivity of the data you intend to request.

Data requests typically fall into two categories:

Demographic Profile or Report: If provided with accurate student V numbers or EIDs, our office can provide a profile report of participating students based on institutional records. Examples of this kind of request include:

• Capture a demographic profile of your event participants or service recipients to portray diversity, equity, and inclusion of programs and services
• Demonstrate potential connections between student involvement in your programs/services and persistence at the university (e.g. looking at year-to-year persistence by student)

Curated Reports based on or a subsets of Divisional/Institutional Projects: If your program or unit has specific questions about students and student feedback that fit within the scope of our divisional or institutional projects, we can develop a curated report or dataset based on your interests and scope of work. Examples of this kind of request include:

• Student engagement data from RamsConnect
• Student health and wellness data from the National College Health Assessment or the Healthy Minds Study (e.g. frequency of students who indicated need for mental health services, utilization of mental health support on or outside of campus.)
