Raising Voices of Reentry Project
Use this form to offer your Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Second Chance Act Month submission. Submissions may be considered for use during 2022 Second Chance Act Month celebrations and in future Second Chance Act or reentry-related publications or trainings. Note that not all submissions will be used and those selected will be notified using the contact information (phone or e-mail) provided on this form.
DEADLINE - All submissions must be in by February 28, 2022.
Submission Details – Complete as you would like information shown if submission is selected for use. The Corrections & Community Engagement Technical Assistance Center (CCETAC) is funded by OJJDP and administered by the American Institutes for Research (AIR).

Who Could Submit Their Voice?
• Youth and young adults who are reentering or have reentered their communities after juvenile justice involvement,
• Families of youth and young adults who are reentering or have reentered their communities after juvenile justice involvement; and,
• Second Chance Act grantees and reentry partners/providers.
What’s the Goal?
Second Chance Act Month aims to highlight the reentry journey for youth and families and the programs striving to ease the road from out-of-home placement back to a youth’s community. Here are a few things to think about when shaping your submission.
• Why are second chances important?
• Tell us about your experience (e.g., struggles, celebrations, inspiration, and fears) with reentry.
• What advice would you have for other youth, families, and reentry programs/services?
• Share about the people, services, or programs that helped you or youth reenter successfully.
• Raise awareness of the resources, services, or opportunities that youth, families, and communities need to make reentry easier.
How to Share Your Voice.
Unleash your creativity! Submissions of all types are welcomed, so share in the way that moves you and best captures your story. This could include:
• Blog Posts
• Spoken Work/Lyrics/Poetry
• Art (ex: drawing, painting, photography)
• Brief Video (ex: interview, videoblog)
• Podcast
Submission Selection
OJJDP will work with CCETAC to review submissions and select several for use. Selection criteria will focus on:
• Inclusion of youth and family voice
• Creativity
• How well they capture the goals of the project
Use of Selected Items
If your submission is selected for use by OJJDP:
• It becomes the property of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), OJJDP, and will be used in Second Chance Act or reentry-related efforts.
• Any applicable copyrights will be held by those offices.
• It may be used in publications, exhibits, and displays and on websites, as determined by OJJDP and DOJ. Timeline
